I.Application
Used to determine the fire stability of fire-resistant gypsum boards. Also applicable for assessing the fire resistance of other building materials, decorative finishes, and interior decoration materials.
II. Test Procedure
Drill holes in the test specimen and condition it under specified environmental conditions. Suspend the specimen between two flame nozzles using a support rod, with the nozzles perpendicular to the specimen surface. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is supplied as the heat source to the two burners of the fire stability tester, with the burner nozzles positioned 30 mm from the board surface. A load is suspended beneath the specimen as per the standard, and the burners are ignited. A thermocouple measures the temperature at 5 mm from the board surface. During the initial test phase, any carbonized facing paper adhering to the thermocouple should be removed without causing the specimen to sway. Adjust to maintain the temperature at (800±30)°C within 3 minutes, sustaining this temperature throughout the test. Time is recorded from the moment the specimen is exposed to fire until fracture occurs. Note the time taken for each specimen to burn through, using the minimum value among five specimens as the fire stability rating for that group, accurate to the nearest minute.
